The Princo Model LMW–ST/SR-2 Microwave Level Switch consists of a
transmitter and a receiver installed face to face. The transmitter
emits a continuous low power microwave beam toward the receiver and an
output signal changes state when the beam is obstructed. The microwave
beam penetrates “through the wall” of non-metallic vessels, e.g.
firebrick, fiberglass, plastic, etc.
They are non-contact, non-invasive, insensitive to the application area,
intrinsically safe for personnel and possess solid-state reliability.
ADVANTAGES
Level Detection "Through the Wall"
Penetrate - Firebrick,
Fiberglass, Concrete, etc.
Small sensing head
Simple beam alignment
Unaffected by adverse
environments
Princo's Microwave Level Switch may be fitted with a variety of
flanges, stainless steel sensing heads, waveguide extensions and
cooling fins to allow for installation in high temperature and high
pressure environments.
When the application environment includes a lot of dust, steam,
vapor, high temperatures, induced noise, or intense ambient light,
reliable sensing is very difficult for most technologies, but quite
simple using Princo's microwave switch.
Typical industries that utilize these units include: agricultural,
cement, iron and steel, manufacturing, mining, power utilities, and
municipal facilities such as waste disposal, water/sewage treatment.
Non-invasive
The sensors may be protected from high temperatures, hazardous
materials, vibration and shock by providing detecting windows on
each side of the vessel through which the microwaves can pass.
These windows should be made of ceramic, Teflon or polypropylene
materials having no water content and should be at least 60mm in
diameter as microwaves pass more easily though larger apertures.
The Model LMW–ST/SR-2 is
used to detect product presence/absence, flow/no flow conditions and
point level detection in chutes, bins, silos, ovens and furnaces,
whenever non-invasive detection is required.
