Ultrasonic Level Success Story

They really work on COAL!!!

Princo Instruments Inc. has successfully installed (Two) L4660-STD-33J-1 ( 0 to 98Ft ) SmartSonic Ultrasonic Level Transmitters on Coal Silos at BYU University.

For as long as ultrasonic technology has been used to measure level, it has been OBVIOUS that this technology was not suitable for Coal or other dusty bulk solids.

However, the Princo SmartSonic has changed the OBVIOUS.

That’s right-  they really work on coal - in spite of the dust.

These units have been operating satisfactorily at BYU since November 2004 without any problems.

There is also an Ex ATEX approved version for explosion proof requirements.
